Last month my family attended an event called “Surfing for Autism” in Nags Head, North Carolina.  My son, who is on the autism spectrum, was one of the participants.  I had no idea what to expect and no idea how I would react when I saw him on that surfboard for the first time.  It was AMAZING and I was so proud!  There was a glow about him that I hadn’t seen before and it brought me to tears.

For more information about this event, check out their website at http://www.surfingforautism.org/.

  1. My cousin’s grandson is attending one this weekend at Tybee Island, GA. This will be his second one and he is absolutely excited. Such a great experience for them.
